They are the target of effective therapeutic drugs against thrombosis and inflammation, and integrins are receptors for many viruses and bacteria. NettetIntegrin receptors share the ability to bind various different natural ligands including laminin, thrombospondin, osteopontin, vitronectin, and fibronectin, all proteins which are associated with either basal membranes or the growth control of different tissues.
